Escape the Clouds soldiers on Until the End << Prev Next >> Escape the Clouds is thrilled to release their third steampunk album: Until the End . By DoctorQ on Aug 30 2011 Category:SpC,Media,Music Escape the Clouds is thrilled to release their third steampunk album: Until the End.
Painting vivid characters, stories, and emotions through music and words, the album strikes a balance between aggressive and poignant. From the cautionary dieselpunk tale of a crack aerial hitman… to the Victorian lady succumbing to her illicit wants… to a Louisiana vampire hunter's last gig… to a fresh telling of the Jack the Ripper story, every track is distilled from ideas either historical or fictional – and many times both.
An eclectic palette of sounds lays the foundation. Heavy guitars and industrial-style percussion drive "One Bullet" and "The Sins of the Godly" onward and build beneath the Civil War-inspired "Warriors Without a War". Darker, electronic soundscapes are explored through "Lady in Waiting" - featuring the wonderfully sensual vocals of Unwoman – and the stark, sinister "The Surgeon's Widow." A counterpoint is found in the more delicate ukulele lines of "Until the End" and "Cogs and Queens".
The first 30 CDs sold will be individually numbered and signed by Escape the Clouds' songwriter and producer Mark Rossmore. The CD purchase includes an immediate download version as well, with lyric sheet – complete with notes for every song – as well as high resolution album art and a steampunk novella. Click here to purchase the album directly.
One final, exciting note! Escape the Clouds has a tradition of offering free tracks after their album releases. Right out of the gate, the exclusive new track "Into the Light" – featuring Eli August's unique, passionate lyrics and vocals – will be available as a digital download included with Until the End. Several additional tracks are in the works and will be released in due course throughout the year.
